The Mother's Union is a worldwide organisation the purpose of which is to be
concerned with all that strengthens and preserves marriage and Christian family life.
The Branch consists of 23 members and 1 IMPC member, with age ranging from 46 years to 87 years.
We meet on the third Tuesday of each month [excluding August], mainly at members' homes over lunch.
|
 |
| The eleven meetings split into 1 AGM, 5 meetings with speakers, 2 outreach events and 3 social occasions.
The Branch Leader, Lee O'Brien, with 6 members form a committee which ensures the smooth running of the Branch. |
| The outreach events consist of a Listen and Lunch in March with Cleeve Toddler Group, and in July we hold our annual Parents and Toddler Picnic. |
| Our three social events consist of an outing in June, our Christmas Party,
and for many years we have been blessed by an invitation to lunch from a former resident of Cleeve, which is very much appreciated. |
| There is a monthly MU prayer group; we also have one member on the Deanery Prey Circle and another member is trained in the Parenting Course. |
| We provide a monthly Friendship Lunch catering for 36 people; provide help every Monday during term time to
Stepping Stones Playgroup; supply help to Trinity Tots, and we collect all manner of goods for the Women's Refuge, including Easter Eggs and Christmas Presents.
Once a year we hold a 'Full Tea' afternoon for the Overseas Funds. |
| We knit bonnets and booties for the Neo-natal Baby Unit, and garments of all kinds for 'Feed the Children'. |
| We are an active group and we always welcome new members, so if you are interested in joining us, contact: Lee O'Brien on 01934 832820 |
