Music at St Mary's, Yatton

         
A new CD "Moor Music", featuring the various choirs of Yatton Moor, has been recorded in St Mary's Church and if you have your sound turned on, you could be listening to one of the tracks, as played and reviewed on BBC Radio Bristol!.  

This CD is directed by the Revd Ian Hubbard, our very own rector, and recorded, edited and mastered by Jonathan Lane.

Our parish church is affiliated to the Royal School of Church Music and is blessed with a large and talented robed choir and fine organists, Ian Hubbard, David Lumkin and Simon Johnson.

There is a sung Eucharist at 9.30am every Sunday.

The two manual pipe organ has recently been restored by Nicholson's at a cost of nearly £70,000.

St. Mary's also hosts concerts arranged by the Yatton Music Society, which aims to bring talented national and local musicians to the heart of our community. Regular concerts are given on the last Saturday of each month, from September to April, and our Team Rector is the Honorary President.

Our Team Rector also conducts the Yatton and Winscombe Chorale which is affiliated to St Mary's. This adult choir meets between September and November, and January to April in our Chapter House. At present there are more than fifty members. There are no auditions and new members will be made very welcome. Two public performances are given each year.
